Album review: Chapter V
I’ve been writing this story for a long time, this is Chapter V – Trey Songz.
If perhaps the previous party/dance singles (Say Aah, Bottoms Up) that he has made and featured on, have got you confused on the genre Trey sings, Chapter V will iron those out. Tremaine Aldon Neverson is a young R&B singer.
Chapter V‘s album cover is a collage of blazing pictures of the singer-songwriter in five different poses, in five different settings. One wonders if he wants to communicate the different sides to him, which you also get in the album. The romantic, the love-maker, the party-lover, the upfront-emotional, the hard-worker. Either way, the more of this multiple award-nominee and award-winning artist you see, the better the world looks, some how. He is gorgeous to look at.
Modern R&B is sexy, sticky, upbeat, gives voice to egos, but still sounds good enough for you to want to sign up and ‘not be scared’. Songz has had four trials to test this out and trust that the fifth time around will rake in more accolades. If that’s your kind of vibe, you will love this album.
He features stable-mate and bad-boy T.I., Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Diddy and Meek Mill (pictured).
