Beyoncé Knowles is intent on “doing something great for someone else.”

The superstar filmed her music video for her single I Was Here at a United Nations facility. She also donated the track to World Humanitarian Day, which is celebrated on August 19.

Beyoncé wants to inspire others to make a difference.“I was definitely attracted to raising awareness of this day of recognition,” she told CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.

“I found out that 22 people lost their lives helping people in Baghdad and I thought it was such an incredible thing to turn that into something positive and try to include the world in doing something great for someone else.

I Was Here says I want to leave my footprints in the sands of time, and it’s basically all of our dreams (about) leaving our mark on the world.

“We all want to know that our life meant something and that we did something for someone else and that we spread positivity, no matter how big or how small, so the song is perfect for Humanitarian Day. And I think for the UN to want to include the whole world was something important, and that’s what I represent”.

Channel O plays Beyonce’s music videos back to back on Featuring from tonight at 20:30pm. Also catch the repeat on Saturday, August 18, 2pm and Sunday, August 19, at 11am, and also at 7pm.
