Jennifer Lopez’s family may have influenced her decision to take a break from boyfriend Casper Smart.

The 43-year-old singer recently decided she “needs time out” from her nine-month relationship with backup dancer Casper.

Her hiatus from her beau comes shortly after her family sat her down to voice concerns about the pair.

“Jen’s family is very protective of her, and they’re really concerned that she’s moving way too fast with Casper,” a source close to the Lopez clan revealed to the American edition of OK! Magazine.

The former American Idol judge’s romance with Casper seems to have suffered following rumours he visited an exotic massage parlour recently.

Despite the incident, Jennifer still sees a future with Casper. “Jennifer is still totally in love with Casper, so it’s not that they’re breaking up,” the family friend explains. “But she has agreed to take a big step back and slow everything down.“Her family doesn’t want to see her rush into another marriage.

Jennifer is still very sure that she and Casper will end up together forever, but she’s agreed to slow things down to make her family happy.”
