Lil Wayne was filled with nostalgia when he visited his hometown recently.
The 30-year-old rapper was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, but he now resides in Miami.
Lil Wayne filmed a music video for T.I.’s new single Ball, which premieres Monday, in the southern city recently.
He is in awe of the experience.
“It was weird, because we shot it in my ‘hood, and he shot it in some spots that I hadn’t been in so long,” he told a certain news reporter.
Lil Wayne and T.I. filmed the video with New Orleans city dwellers.
Revisiting the neighbourhoods that he grew up in was an interesting experience for Wayne.
“To just even be back in those spots was crazy and just to have that old atmosphere back, that old Cash Money (record label feel), shooting videos with the whole ‘hood out there, the whole city out there,” he said.
“Just to know that still exists even now, that was awesome.”
