The DankieSan Concert was one unforgettable moment for SA Hip Hop culture

There's no shred of doubt that the sad passing of one of the most talented rappers to have walked the earth left the music industry shattered this August. But while everyone continues to mourn the death of ProKid, this past weekend also saw one of the biggest assemblies of the South African Hip Hop communities to honour the iconic rapper's indelible legacy, while also raising funds for the education of his beloved daughter.

Channel O reported to the scene at Zone 6 in Soweto, where the biggest names in the business did some unbelievable things for the much celebrated late lyricist.

AMU IS JOINED BY STOGIE T AND NOTHENDE ON STAGE

This was incredibly iconic for the culture. These are pretty much the founders of SA Hip Hop, as their careers span nearly two decades now. Amu had the crowd ablaze when he performed Act Crazy, the timeless bop that blasted through the streets in the early 2000s, long before Hip Hop went mainstream in this part of the world.

SJAVA PERFORMS WITH DJ CITI LYTZ

Sjava is the pinnacle of African authenticity and DJ Citi Lytz is the dab hands who brought us Vura. He is the ProKid's younger sibling, whom we had a chat with about his brother's legacy backstage at the Channel O area. Their performance was beautiful!

THE CROWD WANTS MORE AKA

The crowd was so spellbound by AKA's performance that they literally begging more for a good five minutes. He'd just finished performed Fela In Versace and everyone just wasn't ready to watch all that good energy go.
