Kwesta now boasts the biggest selling South African Hip Hop album of all time, and he's just getting started.

The 29-year-old Katlehong native on Sunday confirmed that his critically acclaimed Dakar II  album has now been certified 7 times platinum in South Africa. This gives Kwesta the throne for having the best selling South African Hip Hop album in history.

The Mayibabo award winner took to Twitter to celebrate both this milestone, as well as reaching 700 000 followers on the social media platform. "Want to say thank you to each and everyone of my SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND FOLLOWERS", he wrote on Twitter.

"I take it as a sign this coincides with RiSA declaring DaKAR II is now SEVEN TIMES PLATINUM, making it SA HIP HOP's all-time best selling album."

Despite having been released in 2016, the album has sustained momentum over the last two years. DaKAR II spawn #1 hits Ngud, featuring Cassper Nyovest, Ng'yazifela Ngawe with Thabsie, which went on to become of the most watched local music videos on Youtube in 2017, as well as chart-topping banger Maybabo with Maphorisa, DJ Bucks and Okmalumkoolkat.

Kwesta returned to the top of the charts when he collaborated with Wale on Spirit, reimaging the vibe and flavour that saw Ngud dominating charts the year before. Spirits also went on to become one of the rapper's biggest hits, with the visuals now sitting at 2.3 million on Youtube.

Safe to say Kwesta is one of the G.O.A.T.s in the land?
