TIWA SAVAGE

Tiwa Savage’s family immigrated to England from Nigeria when she was 11 and she returned to Nigeria a few years ago. She has been a backup vocalist since age 17 and this saw her sing for George Michael. It was during the time Tiwa worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland - after graduating from the University of Kent with a degree in business administration - when she got the call to sing backup for Mary J. Blige for a European tour that was beginning in three days. The budding songstress decided to chuck accounting and focus on her music full-time. Since then she went on to record the hit single “Kele Kele Love” and co-wrote the 2011 Grammy Award nominated track “Collard Greens and Corn Bread”. The song features on American singer Fantasia’s third studio album called Back to Me.
